| Using Merchant Helper, a merchant has to do the following:
Entering Product Information
The product information includes product ID, name, price, description, and image if any. The product image must
be in either GIF or JPEG format. Products are organized in category and/or sub-category folders. The merchant specifies
different shipping methods and their corresponding costs as well as the types of credit cards which are accepted.
Publishing and Viewing the Shopping Site
At any time, the merchant may publish the shopping site on his hard disk. He/she can then examine
all generated web pages by invoking the view option.
Uploading the Shopping Site to the Internet Service Provider's Site
All web pages generated can be uploaded through a built-in file transfer dialog box in Merchant Helper. Since there
is no scripts or programs compilation on the ISP's server, the shopping site can be hosted with any ISP and is guaranteed to work.
Order Notification
When a shopper places an order in the merchant's shopping site, it invokes 2DEG's secure server. The order information is then encrypted
at 2DEG's server and transmitted back to the merchant. The merchant will receive an encryted e-mail and he/she will decrypt the e-mail
using Merchant Helper. The merchant then manually processes the credit card.
Using Merchant Helper Pro, a merchant has to do the following:
Open an Account with Selected Credit Card Processing Company
To process credit card transactions online, a merchant must have the capability to accept credit card
transactions through the Internet. He/she needs to setup an account with a credit card processing company.
Currently, Merchant Helper Pro is setup to work with Authorize.Net and
Credit Card Network to provide online credit
card processing. Future links to other credit card processing services are added continuously to
Merchant Helper Pro and are free to current licencees of Merchant Helper Pro. 2DEG is not involved in setting up
the credit card merchant account with Authorize.Net or Credit Card Network. However, 2DEG is involved in the sales of Merchant Helper Pro and the technical support
of such.
Order Notification
When a shopper places an order at the merchant's shopping site, the order information will be kept in the
selected credit card processing company and an e-mail will be sent to the merchant. The merchant checks the
order's status through a secure server provided by the credit card processing company.
